Darcy's Cafe sits at the corner of Main Road and Hopkins Street in Moonah, serving up a warm, casual atmosphere that feels much like a neighbourhood meeting spot for breakfast and brunch. This is a café rooted in attention to detail, where dishes are carefully cooked to order rather than pre-prepped, giving the impression of thoughtful, fresh food rather than a rushed service line.

Popular choices like Darcy's Big Breakfast and the diverse range of rice paper rolls—featuring prawn, avocado, and BBQ meats—showcase a deliberate blend of café staples and fusion flavors that suit varied tastes and moods. The rice bowls and burgers add a bit of heartiness for those looking for something more substantial later in the day.

The vibe here is cozy and relaxed, appealing to both early risers seeking a comforting breakfast and locals leaning into a slow weekend brunch. The staff are notably attentive and friendly, with a personable edge that often stands out in food service. It’s the kind of spot where the people working seem genuinely invested, creating a welcoming environment that encourages repeat visits.

Coffee and tea play a cornerstone role at Darcy’s, from well-brewed matcha lattes to classic teas like Earl Grey and Desi Chai, complementing meals without overshadowing the food’s own fresh flavors. This balance makes it an ideal stop not just for breakfast but also for a laid-back coffee break in the mid-morning or afternoon.

Families also find a good fit here, thanks to a kids’ menu featuring straightforward, familiar options like fish and chips or nuggets with fries, meaning little ones are comfortably catered for without fuss.

Overall, Darcy’s Cafe thrives as a community-focused spot where freshness, flavour, and genuine service come together — a place where locals can reliably enjoy breakfast or brunch that feels homemade and thoughtfully prepared. Best times to visit are mornings through early afternoons when the café buzzes with the easy rhythm of people settling in for a relaxed meal or coffee catch-up.

My partner and I visited Darcy's Cafe for a Christmas eve breakfast. We both settled on the paratha roll. While it might look like a simple dish, the food was perfect. It was a great serving size and the flavours were just right. The quality of our meals, paired with the incredibly friendly and personable service we recieved has made sure that we will be returning soon

Had such an amazing experience at Darcy’s Café! Chef Umair’s food was honestly next level.... full of flavour, fresh, and made with so much care. You can really tell he loves what he does. Every dish felt special, and he even took the time to check if everything was okay, which made it even more personal. It’s rare to find someone who cooks with both skill and heart, but Umair truly does. Highly recommend visiting if you want great food and genuine warmth. He’s the reason Darcy’s Café feels so special! Chai was FANTASTIC Umair was AMAZING

This place is something. They actually cook to order ( except the beans). No like all other place where bacon, sausage , hush brown are all made before anyone order them. I believe the lady serve me must be part owner too. Because her service felt very sincere. Total different to others who just ‘doing there job’. If she really just a worker, the owner got a bargain. Foods are great like I said except the avocado is started to turn black. Freshly cook when order food ! Must come place. I came back for lunch , spoke to the lady again. She on working visa for half a year , very polite person. Very good service! Lucky owner! Curry beef was outstanding ly good and authentic!

I had breakfast here and it was honestly amazing. The food was incredibly flavorful and freshly made — the fluffy puris, the perfectly spiced chickpeas, and the soft, comforting halwa all tasted authentic and delicious. The dish was beautifully presented, too! The lassi was creamy and refreshing, the perfect balance with the meal. Everything tasted homemade and full of love. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the service was quick. I left completely satisfied and happy. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be coming back!

We had an amazing experience at Darcy Cafe Hobart! The staff were so friendly, welcoming, and helpful — their service truly made us feel at home. We came all the way from Smithton just to enjoy a delicious breakfast, and it was absolutely worth it. The food was halal, fresh, and full of flavour. The highlight for us was the Halwa Puri — it was outstanding! The puris were soft, fluffy, and perfectly cooked, and the halwa was rich, warm, and comforting. Every bite took us back to traditional homemade flavours. The café has a lovely, cozy atmosphere and is perfect for a relaxing family breakfast. Everything we ordered was delicious, and we could really taste the quality and care in the food. Highly recommend Darcy Cafe to anyone in Hobart looking for an authentic and satisfying halal breakfast. We can’t wait to come back!

visited Darcey Café today with my family and was genuinely impressed. Their authentic Pakistani halwa puri exceeded my expectations and instantly reminded me of the traditional flavours back home. The puri was perfectly crispy, and the chana had the exact desi taste that’s hard to find in Australia. The ambience was comfortable for families, and the service was warm and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. I’ve tried halwa puri at several places around Australia, but this easily stands out as one of the best. If you’re craving a proper desi breakfast or want to experience real Pakistani flavours, Darcey Cafe should be at the top of your list. Highly recommended. Needless to say best in the town
